Hoosier National Forest - Trails for hiking, mountain bike riding, and horseback riding. The Nebo Ridge Trail is very close. We can provide you with maps, passes and advice and maybe even accompany you on your way. Plus, if you will be horseback riding, our neighbor can stable and/or pasture your horses at her farm just down the hill.

Brown County State Park – Bridle, mountain bike and hiking trails, saddle barn, tennis courts, playgrounds, picnic and grilling facilities, shelter houses, swimming pool, Nature Center and fishing lakes along with beautiful natural views of the tree covered hills of Brown County.

Lake Monroe - Indiana's largest reservoir, located southeast of Bloomington, is perfect for watersports enthusiasts. A huge portion of the lake is open for powerboaters, and another large section, designated as idle zone, is a haven for canoeists and fishermen. There are also recreation areas around the lake offering shelter houses, hiking trails, Nature Center, swimming beaches and more.

Yellowwood State Forest - Trails, lake, fishing and boat rental.

Nashville - We are just 15 minutes south of the "hustle and bustle" of the historic little town of Nashville in the gently rolling hills of Brown County, Indiana. The town started life as an Artists’ Colony. Today it still has many art galleries and craft shops run by local artisans, including glass blowers, leather workers, potters, weavers, painters, photographers. You'll love the variety of specialty, gift and antique shops. Many stores specialize in foods such as nuts, coffee, home-made ice cream or Western delicacies. The Nashville Express “Train” runs regularly through town and horse-drawn carriage rides are available, weather permitting. There are also many other unique places to visit:

Wineries, various theaters, the Little Nashville Opry, Marionette Theater, The Bill Monroe Bluegrass Memorial Park and Festival, a dance barn, a saddle barn, a climbing facility, an Old Time photography studio, a hologram studio, wedding chapels and more. A little further south you'll find caving opportunities.

Columbus - Known for it's unique and unusual architecture, the small city has larger stores, movie theaters and restaurants.

Bloomington - Home to Indiana University, the town also has movie theaters, unique restaurants, larger stores, a weekend "Farmers' market" and more, and it is an easy drive away.

The Butcher's Block in Bloomington (phone 812-336-MEAT) offers a delicious array of meat and seafood, plus a deli and tailgate delivery services for IU home football games.

Other Attractions - In the area are specialty, gift and antique shops, several wineries, flea markets, golf, caves, museums, a drag way, flying and parachuting at neighboring airfields, gardens and historical sites. Near to us there are canoe rental companies, a historic restaurant and bar, an Orienteering course, a Paintball center and Dude ranches. Sightseeing tours and excursions may be arranged.
